The Lamp Factory

The Lamp Factory started as a release — a reset after finishing a year-long project. I grabbed a lamp from the dump and started working, and once I began, I couldn't stop.

I collect lamps from trash heaps, thrift stores, and roadsides. The bases get covered in air dry clay worked into surfaces that reference handwoven textiles — the specific warmth and wobble of someone's first knitting project, a child's drawing. The shades are rebuilt or wrapped using yarn, rope scraps, paint, and whatever else I find that wants to be part of it. Colorful, tactile, and deeply strange. They look just as good off as they do on.
